Day 2 / 6: Music, faces, handssss!

So yesterday was basically just another lazy day, i seriously need to dedicate more time for this if i want to reach my goals.

What we have is almost ready character, i'm still considering if i should texture him or not. I hate UV mapping (for characters), but the current look is ok i think. And since i want to have some sort of sleek look for the game, i think i'll just stick with this non-textured look and build the whole art style around it.

The character (player too!) has proper claws now with facial expressions and i managed to make a simple IK system for the head, so that it feels more natural on conversations. When the face weren't looking directly at you, it looked so weird. My goal is to make dialogs feel more immersive, so next step should be dialogs. I did write a text system, that outputs words at variable speed, so you can add some feel to the text. Sound-wise, i should add some murmuring voices too.

In the previous post i posted the theme song, and i don't know about you, but i got Nintendo64 / Super Mario 64 vibes from it somehow, so i made a slower alternative version for levels and damn, it's like straight from SM64. (Instrument-wise, i took a little inspiration)

Too bad it's really WIP and itch.io won't allow you to post .mp3 files, so there's no point uploading it to youtube right now, since it's a ~25s loop currently.
